Soli Deo Gloria is a Latin phrase that means “Glory to God Alone.” This name was carefully chosen to represent our lovely venue – we desire to glorify God in all we do, especially hosting weddings where love stories are honored and commitments are made.
Our Christian wedding venue in Decatur, TX is situated in a tranquil location just a scenic 1-hour drive north of the bustling Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex. Nestled among majestic oak, cedar elm, bois d'arc, and cedar trees, our serene property is home to a stunning white Chapel, a spacious Party Hall, and a charming Guest Cabin. From the first time you visit to the day you leave as newlyweds, our goal is to make you feel welcomed, supported, and confident in every decision you make.

We’ve been a team since 1983. We have 2 Sons, 2 Daughters-in-Love and 6 incredible Grand Children. Rick is an artist and I am a retired Labor and Delivery Nurse. We both love God, our Family, our Country, the Great Outdoors and four-footed Creatures.
Bringing glory to God is our one and only desire. Everything good flows out of this desire including your unique and beautiful event.
SDG is a family-owned business creating beautiful weddings and events since 2017. We are privileged to be the caretakers and live on the property. Everyone in the family and all of the staff at SDG are Christians who want to reflect glory to God alone.
Rick and my son, Dave, designed and built the Chapel, Party Hall and Bridal Cabin. All 3 structures on the campus were constructed from reclaimed wood from my Great Grandparents' old home place built in 1883, the Church of Christ building in Greenwood built in 1908 and a neighbor's barn built in 1885. All 3 buildings were painstakingly torn down, the wood brought to Greenwood and then meticulously crafted to finish out the inside of SDG's 3 buildings.

I didn't come to weddings from the wedding industry. I spent 17 years running a private Montessori school and five years as a project manager in construction — steady work that taught me how to stay calm under pressure and keep a hundred moving pieces on track.
The real turning point was more personal: in one year, all three of my and Jon's daughters got married. I lived the joy of it, and the overwhelm of it, right alongside my own girls. My youngest chose Soli Deo Gloria for her wedding — and that's how I met Andrea. What started as me helping Andrea get organized gradually grew into me coordinating every wedding myself. Along the way, she and I became, in my words, "sisters in Christ."
I put it simply: "I'm not in the wedding business. I'm in the peace of mind business." That shows up in the details — structured planning calls, a shared timeline, someone to answer the phone when a decision feels bigger than it should. One bride put it this way after her wedding: "Planning with her was effortless. She took so much of the stress off of us and made every step feel simple and peaceful."
Jon, my husband, is right there on wedding days too — an extra steady pair of hands so nothing falls through the cracks.

Diamond Dave is the DJ extraordinaire. He will keep your wedding on schedule and has a catalog of music that will keep you on the dance floor! His easy going personality and flexibility will fit right in with your reception or event expectations!
Dave is Rick & Andrea's son. He and his beautiful wife Audrey were married here at Soli Deo Gloria. They are also the proud parents of three wonderful children.
